[05 Sep 2006|01:45am]
we're all chasing safety in this fabled thing called love,
spilling our guts til there's nothing left inside.

---

it's behind my eyelids that you exist.
in the comfort of darkness i know your every move.
on my side of the bed

ETERNAL WRITER'S BLOCK [30 Mar 2006|11:10pm]
you're a stranger in my gut
a foreigner to my system
and i'm aching to get you out
aching to have you closer
so close you know my secrets
like an open book
tear the covers off
rip my organs from their limbs
and turn me inside out
inside i'm into you
with my heart beating in your hand
keeping time with your wrist watch
watching your every move
cause you're moving me
moving my solar system
like a constellation in my lungs
breathe you out and in
out and in out and
into my book without its covers
cover me up into the stars
on my side of the bed

TIED TO COFFINS [30 Mar 2005|12:14pm]
it's fantastically ironic, but hey - at least it doesn't really hurt anymore. it's like laughter caught in my throat. it chokes like a hand around my neck, but it's only kidding. who knew? you've won my dear, and i hope you're ready for the chase because your dreams will always be just out of reach.
on my side of the bed

BREAK OUT [24 Dec 2004|12:53am]
12/18/04:

isn't it obvious? this isn't your scene anymore
it belongs to no one and is owned by all
you're a copy of the original that has long since been lost
the masses unite under one common flaw
each is alienated and conjoined by their estrangement
and no one is different, originality obliterated

so find yourself
don't look to me for the answers
i can't help you now
get out of line
stop wasting your time
it's a brand new day
hold the sunlight in your fingers
and let's find ourselves
break out and find
you're one of a kind now

look all around you
do you see yourself in everyone else?
you thought you were alone in your pain and your fear
don't be surprised to see
that we're just like you
same scream same tears
it's over

so find yourself
don't look to me for the answers
i can't help you now
get out of line
stop wasting your time
it's a brand new day
hold the sunlight in your fingers
and let's find ourselves
break out and find
you're one of a kind now

look deep inside before it becomes too late for change
you're never out of time to be free
unlock the cages and anticipate a new day
find out how we all could be

so find yourself
don't look to me for the answers
i can't help you now
get out of line
stop wasting your time
it's a brand new day
hold the sunlight in your fingers
and let's find ourselves
break out and find
you're one of a kind now
on my side of the bed

INSIDE OF YOU [10 Sep 2004|02:05am]
8/27/04:

wipe the crumbs from your mouth, child. the bread and water you consume did not come for free and this train is headed on a one-way path to nowhere. perfection is only a myth to be told, don't hold fast to its tale of glory. it fades like sunlight into dusk.

----------

7/29/04: and the beat goes on

forgiving is the easy part.

it's forgetting that makes me want to rip your fucking heart out
and throw it into the atlantic ocean further than you can swim.

your existance became my nightmare,
but the collateral damage became my living hell.

oh it's been a pleasant summer, hasn't it?
go ahead- keep rubbing in that innocent smile.

----------

6/7/04: you don't need to see this

is it enough to torture you with subtle words left in places for you to stumble upon, left without warning to run you aground? i am purposeful with my tactics like militia gearing up for battle against my heart. this army resolved to begging but gets me nowhere with you. distant and cold you make the miles of ocean more real. i can touch the current but not your skin, alien to my fingertips with the passage of time with the passage of you slipping away between dark waves of a dark sea. you opened the doors but you cannot expect me to close them without you. you've splintered the frame. it stands gaping wide sucking stale wind in your wake. stale breath straight to my core like a cold gray fist. it takes aim at the target of my heart, already bleeding in the gusts of air. you made me vulnerable as i stood before you an open book in which to write your story. and write you did only to rip out the pages with your choking gray fist. ball the pages up and toss them aside. my heart is the next to go.

----------

3/1/04: i can't write

don't be alarmed if you find i come predisposed for letdown

my heart's likely to explode prematurely in your hands
as you are preparing to set it off

all it does is spill to the floor making a mess of things, anyway

----------

2/1/04: our eyes scream murder

"give me your poison" he begs
he wants to kill this moment
before it turns to tragedy
he thinks he can save us both
and i watch the virus take hold
as he looks into me
but his eyes don't say a word
before it started it had ended
over without a trace
but a single drop of lethal taste
screams "goodbye, goodbye, goodbye"
on my side of the bed
